INTERNAL & EXTERNAL STEPS FOR PRIVATE, RESIDENTIAL, COMMERCIAL AND INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS
Precast concrete is the process where concrete is placed in moulds off-site under controlled conditions. The concrete is cast around steel reinforcement bars which add strength to the product. It offers significant benefits over in-situ cast concrete due to the additional control over the mix used, casting conditions and performance. Therefore, precast concrete stairs and landings make the ideal solution for fast track high quality concrete staircase construction.
High quality concrete stair construction requires specialist equipment and technique. At ACP (Concrete) Ltd our precast stairs and landings are designed in accordance with EC2 and are available in various configurations from a single straight stair flight to a complete precast concrete stairwell with landings.
Our precast stairs and landings are designed and manufactured to be used in a wide range of private, residential, commercial and industrial developments to cater for private, public and ambulant access.
Available as supply only or supply and install, all our precast concrete stairs and landings are delivered nationwide from our factories in Workington, Cumbria and Manchester.

Recommended Flooring Systems with Our Precast Stairs
To form a complete suspended concrete floor system, we recommend using our precast concrete stairs with either of our Beam and Block Flooring or Wideslab Flooring which are delivered nationwide from our factory in Workington, Cumbria.
There are 2 different sizes available:
Beam and Block Flooring
Wide Slab Flooring
Beam and Block Flooring
Prestressed concrete beam and block floors provide a quick, easy and robust solution in the construction of ground floors as well as multi-storey buildings. This high quality, performance, durable and robust prestressed floor solution is ideal for ground, first floor and subsequent floors within domestic, residential, commercial, retail and industrial buildings.
Ideal for suspended concrete floors, as well as supporting partition walling using double beam layouts, Beam and Block floors are constructed using prestressed concrete T beams which are supported by standard precast concrete blocks (perimeter walls and internal loading bearing walls). Individual concrete blocks are then laid/infilled between the prestressed beams to form an instant floor. View more information about Beam and Block Flooring, click here.
Wide Slab Flooring
Wide slab flooring is a high quality, economical suspended concrete floor construction using long prestressed concrete floor slabs (or planks) supported by either masonry walls or a supporting frame structure in steel or precast concrete.
Suitable for all floor levels from ground to roof, this rapid flooring solution is ideal where long spans and/or high load bearing capacities are required minimising costs and production time. View more information about Wideslab Flooring, click here.
High Performance at Low Cost
At ACP (Concrete) Ltd, our precast concrete stairs are manufactured offsite in controlled factory environment conditions to recognised industry standards EC2.
Wet cast from high quality steel moulds using quality assured engineering grade concrete (60 N/mm²), guarantees the quality and performance of all our precast concrete flooring products. It also enables us to supply high performance precast concrete floor beams at low cost.
Available as supply only or supply and install, all our precast concrete staircases are delivered nationwide from our factories in Workington, Cumbria.
Fast and Simple Installation
Our precast concrete stairs are manufactured offsite in controlled factory environment conditions.
As a result, the high-quality concrete stairs are delivered to site already ‘made to measure’ for fast installation saving time and money but are also not weather dependent like other site-cast products.
Off-site manufacturing also reduces less project delays as it provides early safe access to subsequent floors for trades and materials.
Durable
Precast staircases are particularly suitable to the construction of high traffic stairwells such as commercial and industrial developments.
The high-quality finish gives a durable concrete staircase for long maintenance free life. The high-density precast concrete is more durable to acid attack, corrosion, impact, reduces surface voids and resists the accumulation of dust.
Fire Resistance
Concrete is made up of a cement (limestone, clay and gypsum) and aggregate materials giving its fire-resistance properties as a non-combustible material. Well known as a strong and durable building material, it also doesn’t emit any toxic fumes, produce smoke, or drip molten particles in the event of a fire.
Concrete also has a slow heat transfer rate, enabling it to act as an effective fire shield by minimizing the spread of smoke and fire from one part of a building to another, limiting property damage.
Our precast concrete stairs can provide up for up to 4 hours of fire resistance, making precast concrete stairs the obvious choice for fire escape stairs.
Acoustic Properties
Precast Concrete stairs are ideal for the construction of high quality private and residential stairways. The dense precast concrete gives excellent acoustic properties addressing sound transfer issues associated with steel and wooden staircases and/or between floor to floor..

Staircases and Landing +
At ACP (concrete) Ltd we offer a range of standard staircases as well as a bespoke staircase service.
We offer standard straight flights plus top and bottom landings. We can also produce winders (sections to put together to go around a corner), however we do not do offer curved stairs.
There are various configurations available depending on your requirements. These include:
Our special casting systems enables the precast stairs to be produced from multi adjustable steel moulds giving high quality a uniform, smooth surface finish to all stair faces.
The adjustable casting moulds also enables the concrete steps to be precast with rising and going profiles to suit each application. Rapid steel mould adjustment without costly timber shuttering minimises down time, maximizing production and cutting costs to deliver high quality concrete stairs at excellent prices.
Precast concrete landing and steps are ideal in high traffic stairwells such as residential, commercial and industrial developments or as fire escape stairs in both external and internal applications. This is due to the excellent durability and fire resistance properties of concrete. It is also ideal in reducing sound and acoustic levels.
Separate Landings +
Precast concrete landings can be designed and manufactured as individual units which are ideal for use with our precast stairs or exiting stairwell profiles. The separate concrete landings can also be incorporated into the design if you are looking to increase the landing area.
Precast concrete landings are ideal in high traffic stairwells such as residential, commercial and industrial developments, or as fire escape stairs, in both external and internal applications. This is due to the excellent durability and fire resistance properties of concrete. It also has excellent acoustic properties which addresses any sound transfer issues associated with steel and wooden staircases.
Our Precast Concrete Landings units are manufactured in our adjustable steel moulds; however, our concrete landings units can be designed for manufacture out of purpose made timber moulds, however this may result in extended lead times. We would be happy to assess your requirements and advise accordingly.
