The following questions should be considered:

  • How many tonnes need to be stored
  • How many cuts or crops need to be ensiled?
  • What is the feeding strategy for the stored silage?
  • What size of compaction tractor or loader is likely to be used – up to 10t or larger?
  • Is a roof required – or practical – to reduce the production of dirty water from rainfall?
  • Future proofing – Do you think you may need to add an additional clamp onto the side or would like to extend the height of the walls at a later date?
