FAQs
We are part of the Thomas Armstrong Group
Frequently used as block work replacement ACP’s Light Duty Horizontal Precast Concrete Wall Panels offer fast and simple installation on site with all the added benefits of off-site production. They are made to measure and designed to fit to the building frame or steel support columns to give foundation free walls.
Suitable for a wide range of non-loadbearing applications including livestock buildings, workshops, warehouses and security cladding these precast wall panels are available in various sizes to meet your requirements.
We have two products to offer in this category. The application, wall height and openings required will determine which of our products is most suitable. The quality of final finish required will also play a part in this decision.
Looking for a Load-bearing or Retaining Wall solution? Look at our alternative product Heavy Duty Horizontal Prestressed Precast Wall Panels.

95mm - Lightweight Prestressed Precast Concrete Walls Panels
Lightweight with a slim 95mm thickness designed for non-loadbearing applications, prestressing gives the concrete far greater strength than its size would suggest meaning that these panels provide a wall that is equivalent to a 9” reinforced and filled block wall.

About Our 95mm Horizontal Wall System
Available in standard heights of 500mm, 600mm, 1000mm, 1200mm and 1500mm, which can be used in combination to provide the desired overall wall height.
The panels have an interlocking ‘tongue & groove’ joint system ensuring that the panels lock together allowing the load to be shared between connecting units and reducing the likelihood of damage from accidental impacts.
These thin section prestressed concrete wall panels offer a high quality, economical, durable and robust walling solution which is ideal for a diverse range of light-duty applications including livestock buildings, warehouse walls, workshops and security cladding.
All our prestressed concrete wall panels are designed and manufactured to Eurocode 2, BS8110 and BS5502 (Agriculture) industry standards and are all CE marked.

High Quality Off-site Production
Manufactured offsite in controlled factory environment conditions from quality assured engineering grade concrete (60 N/mm²) and to recognised industry standards (EC2, BS8110, BS5502) providing known performance specifications.
Fast and Simple Installation
The prestressed concrete wall panels are delivered to site already ‘made to measure’ and ready for immediate use. Installation is quick and straightforward using the lifting points located in the top edge of the panels and lifters supplied to suit.
The panels are simply fixed using the zinc plated plates & bolts provided, one at each corner. Installation is largely independent of weather conditions and helps prevent unnecessary delays to your project.
There are alternative fixing systems available to fix concrete wall panels to most types of structure including existing concrete frames buildings ie. Atcost type.
Foundation Free
The panels sit on landing cleats bolted/welded to the columns or the concrete floor of the building/bunker eliminating the need for strip foundations. A compressible sealant strip can be supplied to accommodate small variations in the floor and to provide a watertight seal.
Durable
The strength imparted by prestressing coupled with density and high grade of concrete used gives the prestressed wall panels long maintenance free service. The smooth finish means that the panels are easily cleaned using pressure washers. They can, if required for planning or hygiene regulations, be painted using simple emulsion or specialist paints such as Keim Mineral Paint.
Modular System For Easy Relocation
Prestressed horizontal wall panels can be dismantled and relocated if required to accommodate alterations to create subdivisions, or extensions to the wall structure.
This modular nature also enables individual concrete wall panels to be replaced in the unlikely event of excessive impact damage. This saves cost, reduces down time and ensures the store or yard is back in service as soon as possible without lengthy on-site repairs compared to traditional block walls.
Watertight
Joints are sealed using mastic sealant applied to the joints after the panels have been sealed (sufficient for one side is supplied with the panels as standard). This sealing together with the density of the concrete and the smooth panel face eliminates concerns about damp ingress.

Design Guidance and Maximum Height Table
Although generally considered to be non- loadbearing, 95mm thick panels are ideal for use in livestock buildings. On deep litter systems ie. where the muck is allowed to build up with fresh bedding being provided on top the maximum height of the manure build up should be no more than half the total wall height.

Installation and Delivery Guidance
Brief Overview: How to install Horizontal Concrete Wall Panels
1. Unload vehicles. Take care to avoid impact on panel edge at all times.
2. Align stacking timbers as shown
3. Attach lifting clutches to cast in inserts
4. Pull back slightly to ensure panel does not slip off stack during pitching
5. Lift panel to vertical, pause before taking full weight to avoid swing
6. Lift panel to location and align to column centre lines, lower into position
7. Attach fixing plates with M12 bolts into cast sockets and tighten
8. A vertical gap of 0mm to 20mm should be anticipated on the column face
9. Apply joint sealant to horizontal and vertical joints
